John was born in California, and moved to the Rogue Valley in the summer of 1971. He established Sappo Hill soapworks in 1972. In 1988 he met his wife Nancy Weston, and they were married for 32 years, John was also a photographer, specializing in architecture and archival work. His company name was A Frame in Time, and in had many commissions from North Dakotat churches to companies like PG&E and Kramer and company.
