September 7, 1947--August 21, 2025. After time in the navy, Kenneth moved to Shady Cove, Oregon, where he lived while he commuted to SOU for college and worked at Omar's where he tended bar and picked up the nickname Shady. He received his Bachelor's degree but also attended Phagan's Beauty School. He worked at a few Ashland salons before opening his own shop on Fourth Street in 1988. He had a love of sports and athletics, and participated in many Olympic distance and Ironman Triathlons. He was very active in cycling, running, skiing, golfing, and boxing.
