The nine story hotel opened its doors 100 years ago. Although it is currently a modern, luxurious building, this Romanesque Revival building has had some hard times. It once featured a giant ballroom, a restaurant, and a pool, but in the 1970's it was a dilapidated building sold for $1.4 million at a tax auction. Doug and Becky Neuman, with the help of Ashland historian George Kramer, have worked hard to bring the building back to life.
